Brutta Bella (broo-TAH BELL-la)
This is a Bosc pear. My grandfather called them ‘brutta bella’, which in Italian, means ‘ugly beautiful’. This is because these kind of pears are ugly on the outside, and beautiful on the inside.
This is a concept most people don’t stop to consider, but the people in our family were taught by the people in our family who raised them, that this kind of disconnect can and does exist in the world of Duality…where we are raised to unconsciously assume everything that is beautiful is beautiful throughout, and everything that is ugly is evil/bad/ugly throughout. …read more here
